Our most heartfelt thanks to AdA and BSC

Our most heartfelt thanks to AdA and BSC

Last 25th June, BESTROM team attended virtually to the performance Und wohin jetzt? [And where to now?] [And where to now?], by our associated parners, Aus den Akten auf die Bühne, in collaboration with Bremer Shakespeare Company (BSC). We cannot be more pleased with the result and more grateful to them.

Eva Schöck-Quinteros, her students and assistants have done admirable work, not only compiling, interpreting and discussing the sources we provided, but adding their own research findings to ours. We also like to extend our gratitude to Peter Lüchinger and the Bremer Shakespeare Company (BSC) for bringing to life with such vividness the stories of repression, persecution and hostility against the Roma.

This splendid experience reveals the real meaning of working with Associated Partners for it is they who show us the boundless possibilities we have of giving back to the society the support we receive for carrying off our academic research. We only can hope that Ada and BSC have relished this project just as much as BESTROM team has.

EuropaPunktBremen used the occasion of the premiere to present a webinar on the problem of anti-gypsyism which began with an excerpt from Und wohin jetzt? and included presentations by Eva Schöck-Quinteros and Eve Rosenhaft. You can view it here: https://youtu.be/veZluo3yng8 (all in German).

Further live performances are planned for September 2021 and a recording will be made available in due course – we hope with English and Spanish subtitles.
